Mazda’s current line of crossovers is filled with stylish, well-equipped models that are fun to drive, but each is distinctive in exciting ways. The compact Mazda CX-50 debuted in the lineup in 2023, and the 2024 model is an adventure-ready crossover. The mid-size Mazda CX-90 is another option, and this three-row model stands out as the largest Mazda crossover on the market today. Our Serra Mazda Brighton associates are thrilled to give you a detailed look at these options and support you with your model comparison.
Performance
You can choose between two powertrains if you opt for the 2024 Mazda CX-50 crossover. These are a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter, 187-horsepower unit and a turbo variant that gives you 227 horsepower. All trim levels come with standard all-wheel drive and a six-speed auto transmission. Some trims add paddle shifters and a towing mode. If you prefer the Mazda CX-90, you have three powertrains to choose from. These include a turbo V6, 280-horsepower unit and a high-output, turbo V6 that produces 340 horsepower. The Mazda CX-90 is also available as a PHEV. It boasts a range of 26 miles and puts out 323 horsepower.
Appearance
While both models show off Mazda’s sleek body language and have a broad, branded grille, they are distinctive from end to end. The Mazda CX-50 has a rugged look with a skid plate and thick molding along the lower perimeter. The grille is wide and touches the short, U-shaped LED headlights. Some trims have all-terrain tires and roof rails. The 2024 Mazda CX-90 is a larger vehicle with a long, tapered roof and a raked rear. Its sides are accented by chrome lower-body trim and a chrome bar close to the front fender. The Mazda CX-90 is styled with chrome accents surrounding the grille and larger, prestigious LED headlights.
