2023 MAZDA CX-9 vs 2022 MAZDA CX-9
Serving Brighton, MI
The Mazda CX-9’s premium finishes, features, and abilities have made it a prime option for Brighton-area SUV shoppers since its debut. Its allure has increased through a next-generation update a few years ago and numerous other mid-generational improvements. With a Mazda CX-9 purchase in your future, the differences between the 2022 Mazda CX-9 and the current model year require a closer look.
Performance
The trim lines are the only significant change between the 2022 Mazda CX-9 and the 2023 Mazda CX-9. The Sport trim that was the base trim in 2022 is no longer available in 2023. In addition, the Touring Premium option has been removed. However, the 2023 version’s remaining trims continue to have the same engine offered in the 2022 Mazda CX-9. This is a 227-horsepower, four-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine. Its base equipment includes an auto six-speed transmission with all-wheel drive.
Appearance
Except for the features deleted from removing the Sport trim and Touring Premium package for 2023, the façade of both model years is unchanged. The modern Mazda CX-9 has exquisite details with a smooth, effortless quality from end to end. Its design includes a lower-body chrome element that rolls around the SUV’s entire perimeter. It also includes rounded headlights boldly accented by an upper LED bar. With a wide, black grille and smooth definition through the sides and hood, the Mazda CX-9 gets ample attention everywhere. Some exterior features offered in both model years include power-folding side mirrors, adaptive headlights, a de-icer for the windshield, a sunroof, a hands-free tailgate, roof rails, and up to 20-inch wheels.
Features
Likewise, the interior equipment in the Mazda CX-9 is unchanged. All Mazda CX-9s for both years have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless device charging station, leather material, second-row captain’s chairs, a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen, and USB ports in the first two rows. They also come with assistive driver’s aids like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, and more. Some of the higher trim levels may also include quilted leather seats with wood trim, a surround-view camera, an integrated navigation system, a heated bench seat in the second row, traffic sign recognition, rear automatic braking, parking sensors, a driver attention warning, USB ports in the last row, a 12-speaker Bose audio system and more.
